An aunt and uncle of mine speak german so i thought learning german might help me interact with them better and not feel left out when they're having conversations among themselves, but spanish is more useful, spoken by much more people and also easier because of its orthography in which if you write tokyo, you read it as tokyo and not london.. That depends on your reasons for doing so. if you have the chance, definitely learn *a* foreign language. if you are going to spend time in central europe, german is an obvious choice.. At university which language should i study and why? i really like these two languages and am already quite good at french. which is easier? which is more beneficial (for business or an employer, etc)?.
I am tossing up between learning russian or german first. i want to learn german so i can talk to my friend in german but i would also like to learn russian as my family is from russia.. I am debating weather i should choose to begin learning german or arabic. i already can speak english spanish and french and i want to choose another language to take at school.. I once asked if german or russian is easier. most said german. even though i know this i still struggle to decide. i don't want to learn both because i would rather do one thing well than two things poorly..
